Red Pandas live in mostly high altitude cool temputer forest with a shrubby understory dominated by thick bamboo. They perefer places with lots of fallen logs, tree stumps, and freash water around. Red pandas in a part of India live in a tropical forest. They can live in places like the Himalayas and other high mountains. Places in China, Nepal, India, and Tibet.
Red Pandas use their claws to climb trees. They also use their tails to ballence in the trees. They sun bathe in the tree canopys. To get down they use their claws to grip the tree and go down head first. Their homes are about 1 square mile. They are mostly solitary except during breading season.
